Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, and what rights you have. We try to keep it in plain language.
1. What we collect
- Email address provided at account creation (to deliver your plan and account access).
- Profile inputs you voluntarily provide to personalize message and bio suggestions (such as job, hobby, vibe). These are stored locally in your browser to power the app and are not sent to our servers.
- Usage data: page views, clicks, time on screen, device type, approximate location from IP, UTM parameters — tied to an anonymous session ID for analytics purposes only.
- Payment data: handled entirely by our payment processor (Digistore24). We do not store card numbers or full payment details on our servers.
2. Why we collect it
- To provide, personalize, and improve the service.
- To process payments and prevent fraud.
- To measure funnel performance and A/B test variations.
- To communicate with you about your account.
3. Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with vendors that operate the service (payment processor, email provider, analytics infrastructure). Each processor operates under contract and applicable data-protection laws.
4. Cookies & similar tech
We use a small set of cookies and localStorage entries to keep you logged in and measure funnel conversion. You can clear them via your browser settings at any time.
5. Marketing emails & unsubscribe
If you opt in to product updates, newsletters or promotional emails, every email we send will include a clear "unsubscribe" link in the footer. Clicking it removes you from the corresponding mailing list immediately and at no cost. Transactional emails strictly related to your purchase (receipts, delivery, refund replies, account access) will continue to be sent even after unsubscribing from marketing, since they are required to operate the service. To request removal from all communications, including transactional, please email help@codesecrests.site.
6. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (GDPR, CCPA, LGPD, etc.), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your data. To exercise any of these, email help@codesecrests.site from the address associated with your account. We respond within 30 days.
7. Data retention
We keep account data while your subscription is active plus 12 months after cancellation for accounting/legal reasons, unless you request deletion earlier. Anonymous analytics data may be retained longer in aggregate form.
8. Security
Data in transit is encrypted via TLS. Passwords and sensitive data at rest are encrypted by our infrastructure providers. No system is 100% secure — we do our part and so should you (strong passwords, no sharing accounts).
9. Children
Better Code is for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor submitted data, email help@codesecrests.site so we can delete it.
10. Changes
We will update this policy as needed. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent change.
